Investment & Retirement Income Planning Specialist

Scott Warshaw took a unique path to a career in financial services. He began his career as a CPA with Coopers and Lybrand but found that something was missing. “When I worked as an accountant, most of my work was reactive rather than focusing on the future. Accountants are trained to make the best of things that have passed. Planners, I learned, focus on the future.”
With that in mind, Scott moved to The Vanguard Group as a Relationship Manager, eventually earning a Master of Science in Financial Services (MSFS). While at Vanguard, he helped companies and their employees maximize the value and usage of the employer’s retirement plan.
In 2005, Scott created a personal financial advisory practice within MassMutual Greater Philadelphia, a general agency of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual), allowing him to act in his client’s best interest, regardless of product or program. He focuses on holistic financial planning and retirement income and can help protect finances against income loss due to disability and long-term care needs. His clients run the gamut of wealth, age, and profession, but they all have one thing in common: they value a personal relationship with a professional advisor. “Everything starts with a conversation,” notes Scott. “The more conversations I have, the more I learn about a person, and vice versa. When it’s a good match, we both know it. Financial decisions are highly personal and only work when you achieve a customized fit for your needs.” Scott leverages his experience and knowledge to help clients identify tax-saving strategies* for businesses and individuals.
Scott resides in Center City, Philadelphia, with his wife, Jennifer, and Jinxy cat. He is a graduate of Tulane University, and along with his Masters of Science in Financial Services (MSFS) degree from Saint Joseph’s University, he continued to further his education by obtaining the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designations. In his leisure time, he and his wife spend much time at the Jersey Shore in the summer. Scott also enjoys traveling, cooking, exercising, and playing pickleball, and well knows the ecstasy (occasional) and agony (frequent) of being an avid fan of all Philadelphia sports teams.
